Saudi Arabia expands logistics zones, strengthening its role in global trade and BRICS supply chains.

Saudi Arabia is accelerating its rise as a global logistics hub with an ambitious $2.66 billion plan to expand its logistics zones from 22 to 59 by 2030. With 30 new maritime routes and major freight expansions, it is strengthening trade links and positioning itself as a BRICS Bridge in global supply chains. As Saudi Arabia reshapes logistics and connectivity, can it challenge traditional global hubs and secure a dominant role in international trade?

BRICS bridge- Saudi Arabia announced an ambitious plan to develop 18 new logistics zones by 2030, an indication that it is seeking to change the contours of global trade. The project, worth more than $2.66 billion, will increase the number of logistics hubs from 22 to 59 across the nation, opening the doors to unique opportunities for both domestic and international investors. Jointly launched as part of Vision 2030, from 2019, this will bring the economy on to a diversification drive and transform Saudi Arabia into a global logistics hub.

Saudi Arabia is rapidly establishing itself as an emerging logistics powerhouse by expanding freight operations at maritime, air, and rail sectors and opening new trade corridors. Last year alone, the country opened 30 new maritime shipping routes, greatly expanding its global trade links.

But this is only the tip of the iceberg. Not only is Saudi Arabia opening new transit corridors for itself with its mammoth logistics expansion but it’s also becoming a BRICS Bridge in the global supply chain. It has the potential to serve as a vital connection between member nations and beyond the global economy by expanding connectivity and providing large trade opportunities for emerging economies.

What does this mean with such uncharacteristic speed, can Saudi Arabia entrench itself in the upper echelons of global distribution and supply by challenging traditional global hubs?
