Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India before the end of the year, with both countries preparing a comprehensive package of documents and agreements for the bilateral summit. The visit marks a significant step in deepening strategic, political, and economic ties between Moscow and New Delhi, providing an opportunity to advance joint projects in energy, trade, and scientific and technical cooperation.

Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar emphasized the importance of energy collaboration during their meetings. The focus is on joint energy projects in Russia’s Far East and the Arctic shelf, further development in hydrocarbons, and oil supply to the Indian market. These initiatives aim to strengthen India’s energy security and solidify Russia’s role as a strategic partner.

Earlier, the 26th session of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation highlighted that trade between the two nations has grown nearly sevenfold over the past five years, while Indian tourist visits increased sevenfold in the first half of 2025.
