India and France collaborate on ethical AI development at the La French Tech India AI Summit 2025.

The summit also launched preparations for the India-France Year of Innovation 2026with joint projects in healthcare, education, and sustainability.

India and France held the La French Tech India AI Summit 2025 on June 5, 2025, in Bengaluru. The summit was organized by the French government, IFCCI, Business France, and the French Consulate in Bengaluru, bringing together government officials, private sector leaders, academics, and startups from both countries.

The core discussions focused on developing ethical and inclusive artificial intelligence. Both sides emphasized the importance of algorithm transparency, bias mitigation, protection of human rights, and building public trust in AI technologies. The collaboration aims to combine France’s expertise in research and ethical standards with India’s skilled workforce and strong digital infrastructure.

The summit also served as a launchpad for the upcoming India-France Year of Innovation 2026, which will include joint projects in healthcare, education, and sustainable development. Both countries announced their vision to create a third model of AI development—democratic, ethical, and public-interest-oriented—offering an alternative path to the US and China approaches.
