Foton Motor has officially launched its first locally produced light truck in Brazil, marking a major milestone in its Latin American strategy. The company is accelerating its green transformation with hydrogen trucks, electric buses, and smart driving technology. With a 180% surge in Brazilian sales and the largest zero-carbon bus fleet in South America, Foton is deepening its role in regional development and China-Brazil cooperation.
On April 18, a Brazilian political and business delegation visited Foton Motor for an in-depth technical exchange on new energy transformation and commercial vehicle innovation. Foton Motor showcased its latest green and intelligent products, including the next-generation liquid hydrogen heavy-duty truck and smart driving technology, presenting the cutting-edge achievements of Chinese commercial vehicle brands. Brazil, as the largest economy in Latin America and the largest destination for Chinese new energy vehicle exports in the region, is an important market for Foton Motor. In the first quarter of this year, Foton’s sales in the Latin American market continued to soar, with a year-on-year increase of 13%, and sales in Brazil surged by 180% year-on-year.
Foton Motor has been deeply cultivating the Latin American market for many years and has achieved remarkable results. With the official launch of the first locally produced light truck in Brazil, Foton became the first Chinese commercial vehicle brand to produce locally in Brazil. The company has built a manufacturing base in Brazil with a planned annual output of 5,000 vehicles, which will cover key markets such as Mexico and Argentina. Foton Motor also launched the “Super Power Alliance” plan in Brazil and Latin America, integrating global leading technology resources to develop more efficient and reliable power solutions and a comprehensive solution from new energy vehicles to smart charging and from core power to smart services. In addition, Foton has built the largest “zero-carbon” bus fleet in South America, with nearly 1,400 electric buses in Chile, making it the market leader in the local electric bus industry.
Foton Motor has been committed to building a global ecological system covering research and development, manufacturing, and services, and has continuously integrated into Brazilian social development. At the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, Foton Motor will continue to strive to become a world-class enterprise, relying on its full series of commercial vehicles, intelligent networking, and innovative advantages in the field of autonomous driving. The company will further deepen its cooperation with Brazil and contribute to the continuous improvement of Sino-Brazilian relations.
