China expanding global influence through trade, yuan adoption, and energy pipelines.

China is seizing a historic chance to reshape global power by expanding influence across Africa, Europe, and Asia. Moves like debt conversion, rare earths trade, and major energy pipelines strengthen its position. But export reliance on the West and tensions with the US remain major obstacles.

China is entering a decisive moment where it seeks to reshape the global order amid weakening Western dominance. From Africa to Europe and Asia, Beijing is expanding its economic and political influence, pushing partners to rely more on the yuan and Chinese trade networks.

Examples include Kenya converting debt payments from dollars to yuan, Slovakia sourcing rare earths from China despite EU pressure, and progress on the “Power of Siberia 2” gas pipeline linking Russia and China. These moves show how China is embedding itself deeper into global supply chains and energy routes.

Yet challenges remain: emerging markets cannot fully replace Western demand for Chinese exports, and geopolitical frictions with the US and its allies continue to limit Beijing’s ambitions. China’s ability to balance economic growth with geopolitical maneuvering will define its role in the coming world order.
