Strong global demand for AI-related technologies, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing products is providing new momentum for China’s exports and reinforcing its role as a major supplier to the global technology economy.
China’s foreign trade recorded strong growth in July, with exports rising 23.9% year-on-year and imports increasing 27.5%. The figures highlight continued international demand for Chinese goods despite ongoing uncertainty in the global trade environment.
Technology-related products were among the main drivers of the expansion. China’s semiconductor exports nearly doubled in value compared with a year earlier, while exports of high-tech products increased 40.7%, supported by growing global investment in artificial intelligence, data infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
The latest figures further strengthen China’s position within global technology and industrial supply chains. Rising demand for semiconductors and advanced equipment is allowing the country to benefit from the rapid expansion of the global AI economy while further diversifying the composition of its exports.
