The largest IPO in Asia in 2026 underscores strong investor confidence in China’s renewable energy industry. The capital raised will accelerate the expansion of wind and solar capacity while reinforcing China’s long-term leadership in clean energy development and the global energy transition.
China has launched the initial public offering (IPO) of China Resources New Energy on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, raising up to 24.5 billion yuan (approximately US$3.6 billion) in the largest IPO in Asia in 2026. Trading is scheduled to begin on July 2, and the offering also marks the largest IPO in the history of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
The company offered 2.11 billion shares at 10.11 yuan per share. Retail investor demand was exceptionally strong, with subscriptions exceeding the available allocation by more than 683 times. The proceeds will be used to finance the development of new wind and solar power projects across China.
The successful IPO highlights continued investor confidence in China’s renewable energy sector despite challenges such as lower electricity prices and grid constraints. The fundraising also supports Beijing’s long-term strategy to expand non-fossil energy generation, strengthen energy security, and accelerate the country’s clean energy transition.
