The meetings provide another platform for BRICS members to expand institutional cooperation and identify new areas for collaboration under India’s 2026 Chairship.
India is hosting the BRICS Youth Ministers’ Meeting in Visakhapatnam on August 22, followed by the BRICS Sports Ministers’ Meeting on August 23, as part of its 2026 BRICS Chairship. Ministers and Heads of Delegation from all 11 BRICS member countries are participating.
The Youth Ministers’ Meeting focuses on education, skills development, entrepreneurship, wellbeing and sustainable development. It will also consider recommendations from the BRICS Youth Council and Youth Summit, with the BRICS Youth Ministerial Joint Declaration and BRICS Youth Cooperation Framework expected as key outcomes.
The programme also includes bilateral meetings between participating delegations, while the Sports Ministers’ Meeting will focus on sports technology, manufacturing and traditional sports. Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the UAE are represented.
