The BRICS Partnership for a New Industrial Revolution Forum 2025 opened on September 16 in Xiamen, China, under the theme “Unleashing the potential of Greater BRICS cooperation to achieve inclusive and sustainable industrialization.” The event focused on artificial intelligence, green and low-carbon industries, the digital economy, and industrial innovation, aiming to boost policy coordination and business collaboration across BRICS nations.
Key speeches were delivered by senior Chinese officials Zhou Zuoqian and Li Lecheng, alongside international representatives from Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Egypt, and the New Development Bank. Speakers highlighted the need for digital transformation, sustainable energy, industrial standards interoperability, and supply chain stability to strengthen BRICS cooperation.
The opening ceremony unveiled the BRICS Industrial Capacity Center, the China-BRICS AI Cooperation Center, and the Xiamen node of the Digital Industry Ecological Network. Several cooperation projects were signed, scholarships and innovation awards were presented, and over 30 countries participated with representatives from governments, academia, industry, and international organizations.
