Indian and BRICS agricultural researchers collaborating on sustainable farming projects.

India advances BRICS agricultural collaboration, sharing innovations and training programs. Key MoUs, like with Brazil, focus on climate-resilient crops. Export support and improved infrastructure boost global competitiveness.

The Government of India has strengthened agricultural research collaboration within the BRICS framework, focusing on sustainable farming, food security, and knowledge sharing. Through the Ministry of Agriculture and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), India leads initiatives in climate-resilient crops, precision farming, and soil health management.

Under the BRICS Agricultural Research Platform (BRICS-ARP), member countries pool research capacities, exchange expertise, and implement joint projects and training programs. ICAR recently signed an MoU with Brazil’s EMBRAPA to develop climate-resilient soybean varieties, highlighting tangible outcomes of this cooperation.

India also promotes agricultural exports by improving processing infrastructure, logistics, and standards compliance. Programs supporting cold chains, quality certification, and international trade events enhance market access, value addition, and global visibility for Indian agri-products.
