
Brazil is opening its doors to foreign investors, with President Lula highlighting government support for investments. The new GWM factory will produce 50,000 vehicles annually and create over 2,000 jobs. Brazilian vehicle exports are expected to rise 38.4% by the end of 2025.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, at the inauguration ceremony of the new Chinese automaker GWM factory in São Paulo, emphasized Brazil’s willingness to attract foreign investment. He invited foreign companies to invest in Brazil and benefit from government support.
Lula also criticized the 50% tariffs imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump on Brazilian goods as “unnecessary turbulence” and stated that the issue will be discussed at the upcoming BRICS summit.
The factory is expected to produce 50,000 vehicles annually and create over 2,000 jobs, while starting exports to Latin America. According to Anfavea data, Brazilian vehicle exports in 2025 are projected to increase 38.4%, reaching 552,000 units.
