Brazil expanded its “Beef and Road” initiative in Zhengzhou to boost beef exports to China, exporting 1.15 M tons worth over $6 B in 2025, solidifying its role as China’s top beef supplier.
Brazil has launched the third edition of its “Beef and Road” initiative in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China, to further strengthen its beef exports to the Chinese market. The event, held on November 2, brought together key representatives from both countries to explore new opportunities in agribusiness and deepen trade relations in one of the most lucrative meat markets in the world.
Brazil remains China’s largest beef supplier, and this new mission aims to diversify regional access points beyond major coastal cities, improving logistics and delivery times. The initiative also promotes Brazilian meat quality standards and traceability systems, which have become key selling points for Chinese consumers seeking reliable food imports.
According to the Brazilian Beef Exporters Association, Brazil exported about 1.15 M tons of beef to China between January and September 2025, worth over US $6 B, showing a marked increase from the previous year and reinforcing Brazil’s dominant position in the global beef trade.
