Belarus plans to double its peat product exports to China between 2026 and 2030. This expansion builds on steady growth since 2022 and aligns with China’s rising demand for modern agricultural inputs. The strategy includes shifting toward higher-value processed peat goods.
Belarus has announced a plan to double its exports of peat products to China in the period from 2026 to 2030. This target follows consistent export growth since 2022, with 26,900 tonnes shipped in 2025, generating approximately $2.4 million in revenue.
Chinese demand is primarily focused on high-moor peat and peat-based substrates, which are essential for modern agriculture, soil improvement, and sustainable cultivation technologies. The growth has been facilitated by institutional cooperation and diplomatic support between the two nations.
As part of its next development phase, Belarus aims not only to increase shipment volumes but also to expand its export range to include value-added, deeply processed peat items. Belarusian producers have been actively strengthening ties with Chinese partners through participation in bilateral trade exhibitions and business forums.
